We require this verification because whisky contains alcohol and for good reasons, it is illegal to sell alcohol to minors. We need to make sure that our platform is not used improperly. Aside from legal requirements, sellers also deserve the assurance that they are participating in a proper, legal transaction.
We require this basic verification from everyone on our platform, buyers and sellers alike.

WannaWhisky was made to make things easier for both buyers and sellers of whisky alike. We have developed a verification process that is fully compliant with recent international legal requirements and that unburdens you as well.
Once you have received Verified Seller status, your profile will always be shown with a verified badge to signal your commitment to trust to other users on the platform. Re-verification is an annual requirement and will be a simplified, reduced version of the process outlined below.

Since WannaWhisky is located in The Netherlands, we are subject to EU law. This means that we need to collect certain information about you as an individual before you begin using our marketplace to sell items. That way, you can make better use of our functionality. This requires completing a seller verification process.
Are you a business looking to sell whisky on our platform? Please view the requirements for licensed dealers.
Please be aware that we are required by law to submit total annual revenue to the relevant tax authorities for any seller if they complete more than 30 transactions or gain more than €2.000 from sales per calendar year. In order to comply with these regulations, we need additional information.
